Yukihiro Ishihara delivered a Special Lecture at the International Conference on GIS and Geoinformation Zoning for Disaster Mitigation (GIZ) held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The lecture was titled “Recent advancement in “Press-in” piling technology: contribution to disaster prevention and mitigation, and attempts for a rational project cycle using piling data.”
In this lecture, fundamental concepts and key case studies of press-in technology were introduced. In addition, the potential effectiveness of utilizing information obtained during construction work for estimating geotechnical conditions and evaluating structural performance was highlighted.
