The seminar, hosted by the Research Committee of the International Press-in Association (IPA), addressed the issue of ageing infrastructure, focusing on the 2025 incident in Yashio City, where a large sinkhole formed due to corrosion and damage to a major sewer pipe embedded approximately 10 meters below ground surface.
